Magnetic and Mössbauer data of Fe2+ in K2ZnF4, analyzed in the spin Hamiltonian formalism

Abstract Magnetic measurements on single crystals and Mossbauer spectra of powders under magnetic field, recorded on Fe 2+ doped K 2 ZnF 4 , have been analyzed in the spin Hamiltonian formalism. The data slightly depart from the expectations of a spin 2 in D 4h symmetry. The occurrence of vibronic effects is discussed.
