Study on a New Type Protective Method of Arc Grounding in Power System

Arc grounding is a hidden trouble that threatens electric power system and distribution networks. At present, it is frequent to use the methods of the grounding scheme by arc suppression coil or small resistance, but certain shortcomings still exist in this way. This paper presents a new protective method, which is based on microcomputer. Its principle and a numerical algorithm are presented also. With this method, we can eliminate arc fast and make the system operate stably.
