NOTES ON THE FAMILIES CALLIPHORID AE SARCOPHAGID AE AND MUSCIDH IN AMOY WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF THREE NEW SPECIES

1. 36 known species of calyptrate flies belonging respectively to the familiesCalliphorid?, Sarcophagid? and Muscid? are listed and a few notes are given underthe following species: (1)Calliphora grahami, to point out the thermal limits-of this species. (2)Sarcophaga crinitula Quo, being a synonym of Sarcophaga crinita Parker. (3)Sarcophaga gravelyi, probably the first record in China. 2. The author described the following species as new: (1)Chrysomyia pingi, sp. nov. 2 males. Blue-green species. 7--8 mm. in length. Head: Upper facets of the compound eye larger than the lower ones, but withoutsharp demarcation. Frons equals to the width of 3rd. antennal segment. Parafrontaliaand parafacialia grey, face brownish. Antenn? dark brown, 3rd. segment 3.5 timesthe 2nd. Gen? black with greyish slender hairs. Palpi yellowish brown. Thorax: Two presutural short rusty vitt? and a median prescutellar dark stripe.Prostigma yellowish white. Squam? brown, the upper sarface haired.Femora and tibi?blackish and normal. Abdomen: Tergite Ⅰ+Ⅱ entirely dark blue, tergite Ⅲ and Ⅳ each with darkblue stripe in the middle and broad transverse band at the hind margin. Genitalia asin fig. 1,2,3. (2)Sarcophaga pingiana, sp. nov. : 9--11 mm. in length. Head: Frons 3/5 that of an eye. Frontal stripe black, broader than one parafron-tal, this and parafacialia. golden grey. Antenn? dark orange to blackish brown, 3rdjoint 3 times. 2nd. Palpi dark, brown. Genals black. 3 rows of post-ocular cilia. Thorax: Acrostichals 0:1, Dorso-centrals 5:5. Wing: R_1 bare, segment iii of costa equal to (sometimes longer than) v..5 Legs: mid.femora without fringe on their posterior surface. mid tibi? bare,hind tibi? also bare. Abdomen: 2nd. visible segment bare. GS1 dark brown without marginals. GS2brownish black. Genitalia as in fig. 9. (3)Morellia (Dasysterna) pingi,sp. nov. Male: 7 mm. in length. Frons equrls to the width of 3rd. antennal segment.Eyes bare. Antenn? and palpi all black. Mesonotum bluish grey with two broad blackish vitt?. Acrostichals 0:1, Dorso-centrals 3:5. Prosternum blackish, the sides bear blackish set?. Sterno-pleurals 1:2.Wing hyaline, vein Ⅰ bare, vein Ⅳ curved gently up. Lower squam? hyaline, withlight yellow margins. Distal portion of haltere ligiht yellow. Legs black, femora andtibi? normal. Mid tibia with one postero-ventral spine. Hind tibia with 5--6 antero-ventral spines and 1 postero-dorsal spine. 1st. abdominal sternite black haired. Genitalia as in fig. 15, 16, 17.
