Hot backup system of NVR and method thereof

The invention discloses a hot stand-by system of NVR. The system comprises: IP cameras, common NVRs and a backup NVR. The common NVRs are connected with the backup NVR, and are regarded as backup objects. State information of the common NVRs are acquired through self-checking. The backup objects response a query of the backup NVR, and reply correlation information of the IP cameras connected with the backup objects and the state information of the backup objects to the backup NVR. The backup NVR regularly queries information of the IP cameras currently connected with the backup objects and the state information of the backup objects. When detecting abnormity of backup object states, the backup NVR can take over the corresponding IP cameras according to the information of the IP cameras currently connected with the backup objects. The invention also discloses a hot backup method of the NVR. By using the system and the method, hot backup of the NVR can be realized and interruption time of data storage in a video monitor system can be reduced.
