Substrate removed GaAs/AlGaAs mach-zehnder electro-optic modulators for ultra wide bandwidth operation

GaAs/AlGaAs electro-optic modulators with push-pull metal electrodes were fabricated using substrate removal techniques. High-speed design considerations indicate that ultra wide bandwidth traveling wave operation with low drive voltage is possible.
