Effect of Refined Rhubarb on Sensitivity of Insulin in the Obese

Objective:To explore the mechanism of Refined Rhubarb on improving insulin sensitivity.Methods:Twenty-seven obesity were recruited according to the Word Health Organiztion diagnosis criteria.Each patient was administrated with Re- fined Rhubarb 5 tablets tid for 8 weeks.Routin clinical assays,serum glucose,insulin and lipids were measured,as well as se- rumadiponectin,leptin,and TNF-α.Results:Refined Rhuharh reduced the body weight,triglyceride,cholesterol,Elevated level of adiponectin,lowerd leptin and TNF-αin serum and improvedinsulin sensitiviy.Conclusion:Refined Rhubarb improve insulin sensitivity by the changes of some adipocytokines.
