Critical temperature and spectral feature of electrolytic coloration of barium fluoride crystal

2009
Barium fluoride crystals are effectively colored electrolytically with a homemade electrolytic apparatus. The critical temperature for the electrolytic coloration of the barium fluoride crystal can be derived theoretically.A lot of F and FA color centers are produced in the colored crystals. The results show that F color centers in barium fluoride crystals are produced firstly near the cathode, and they are unstable at room temperature.
