Quiste del canal de Nuck. Presentación de dos casos y revisión de la literatura

2014
The cyst or hydrocele of the canal of Nuck is a rare congenital disorder due to incomplete obliteration of the processus vaginalis accompanying the round ligament into the inguinal canal of women. It usually appears as a painless and nonreducible lump in the inguinal or labia area. It may be confused, inter alia, with inguinal hernia as in one third of the cases both entities are associated. The main diagnostic method of the cyst of Nuck is the ultrasonography, which allows differential diagnosis with other pathologies. There is consensus that the treatment should be surgical resection of the cyst. We present two cases of cyst of the canal of Nuck. In the first case the cyst was mistaken with an inguinal hernia and was diagnosed during operation. In both cases, the treatment consisted in surgical resection of the cyst.
