Millimeter-wave antenna beam forming by radio-over-fiber with 1.3 μm light source and variable delay line

We experimentally demonstrated millimeter-wave band beam forming of photonic array antenna composed of compact antenna modules in a Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) system with 1.3 μm light source, variable delay line (VDL), and multi-core fiber. It was confirmed that the antenna beam forming was properly operated by just tuning the optical delay.
