The Effect of Multi-Touch Technology on User Interface Design

Despite being in its infancy, multi-touch technology has generated considerable excitement about its potential impact on interactive media. This paper summarizes some important studies on how multi-touch technology affects user interface (UI) design principles. Based on such empirical findings, it also sheds light on fundamental principles of UI design for touch interfaces, based on the general capabilities and physiology of humans.
