Matching experimental measurements and successive numerical approximations of SPE, WAPE and VWAPE for indoor 2D model at 900MHz

2013
This paper investigates different numerical approximations for the parabolic Helmholtz wave equation (PE) and their abilities to match experimental data acquired inside a building. A perfect matched layer was used on model boundaries. We combine finite element and finite difference method in our marching scheme to model the propagation of plane waves with 900MHz. Numerical results indicate that standard approximation for the parabolic wave equation produces acceptable results when the plane wave direction coincides with the equation axis, otherwise very wide angle approximations are necessary to match real data.
