Utilization of Time-lapse Seismic for Reservoir Model Conditioning

Seismic information may be used for reservoir model updates, but typically only in a qualitative fashion. Whilst quantitative use of time-lapse seismic data may significantly improve model updates, it remains a challenging under-determined problem. Here, we address the issue by using a workflow based on modelling, inversion and history matching tools. The value of the different data types in our inverse problem is controlled by the data uncertainties. Robustness of the methodology is ensured through analysis of stable attributes. We demonstrate the work process on a North Sea field.
