A method and apparatus for positioning spools

In a process and device for positioning coils delivered by a conveyor and tipped from a transport position to one from which they can be picked up by a grab, the coils are taken by the tipping movement into the position intended for being taken up by the grab. In addition, tippping is triggered by the coil's running against a tipping surface and being taken against a stop during tipping so that the predetermined position is attained.
