Manufacturing process of geotextiles

Over time, the manufacturing processes for geotextiles have become increasingly specialized to the point of being a research field in its own right. This chapter first reviews the types of geotextiles used in modern civil engineering and environmental projects, their composition and how key properties are achieved by using different manufacturing processes. The chapter then describes in detail the industrial processes used to manufacture various types of nonwoven, woven, knitted and composite geotextiles.
