Expression of survivin in keloid,skin scar carcinoma and skin squamous cell carcinoma

Objective:To investigate the expression of survivin in keloid,skin scar carcinoma(SSC)and skin squamous cell carcinoma(SCC).Methods:Immunohistochemical assay was performed to detect the expression of survivin in keloid,SSC,SCC lesions and normal control skin.Results:The expression of survivin was negative in normal tissue.The positive rates of survivin in keloid,SSC and SCC lesions,were 31.71%(13/41),54.29%(19/35)and 60.87%(28/46),respectively.Survivin was overexpressed in SSC and SCC lesions than in keloid lesions(P0.05).In SSC and SCC,the expression of survivin was showed no statistically difference(P0.05),and was not related to clinical pathological staging of patients,but related to the lymph node metastasis.Expression of survivin was not related to age and gender in keloid,SSC and SCC,and was not related to primary disease in SSC.Conclusion:The overexpression of survivin may play important roles in the pathogenesis of keloid,SSC and SCC.
