Fill-Factor Calculation of Solar Cells Affected by Sheet Resistance of Surface Layer

A calculation methoed for the fill factor or I–V curve of a solar cell with an active thin layer is developed. This method correctly estimates the power-consuming ability of the thin-layer sheet resistance, taking into account the lateral potential distribution in the thin layer, and can be applied to cells with any electrode shape. It has been shown that when using an equivalent series resistance by Handy's equations, the fill factor is underestimated.
