In this study, the effect of the holding time of the surface layer chips on the screw holding resistance of the particleboards was investigated. 40% black pine, 25% oak and 35% poplar wood were used in the production of particleboards. Three-layer particle boards were produced using an average of 10% urea formaldehyde (UF) glue. In the production of sample boards, the effects of the different holding times surface layer chips on the screw holding resistance of the particleboards was determined. In order to determine the screw holding resistance, the dimensions of the test samples were determined in accordance with the principles determined in TS EN 13446 and TS EN 325, and 3 samples of each size of 75 × 75 mm were used from each board. The test samples are conditioned in the air conditioning cabinet at 65 ± 5% relative humidity and 20 ± 2 ° C until they reach constant weight. It has been determined that the increase of holding time of the surface layer chips in the mixer has adversely affected the screw holding resistance of the particleboards According to the results; It was determined that the optimum holding time in the mixer for the surface layer chips is 30 seconds.
