Economía agroalimentaria: Análisis de la producción, comercialización y problemática del cultivo del café

2019
Coffee is one of the most commercialized commodities in the world and is produced in more than 60 countries. Mexico has ideal conditions for the cultivation of coffee, with mountainous areas in the southeast of the country that are at altitudes greater than 900 meters above sea level, only in Veracruz 35 percent of its population lives in the rural sector, with around 350 thousand active producers. Therefore, the objective of this research was to know the contribution of coffee cultivation to the economy through the collection of information that allows to disseminate a complete analysis of the production, commercialization and problems in general of this agribusiness. In conclusion, the coffee sector faces overproduction, which has lowered international prices to a level below production costs, which is why producers have had to abandon their crops.
