The present invention relates to Ag/Al 2 O 3 Catalyst and catalytic hydrogenation 5 Hydroxymethylfurfural thereof prepare 2, and the method for 5 furyl dimethyl carbinols, i.e. at Ag/Al 2 O 3 In the presence of catalyst, 5 Hydroxymethylfurfural selective hydrogenations generate 2,5 furyl dimethyl carbinols.Use metal Ag/Al 2 O 3 Catalyst is under 100 DEG C of reaction conditions with 1.4MPa initial hydrogen pressure, and 5 Hydroxymethylfurfural conversion ratios reach 94.5%, and 2,5 furyl dimethyl carbinol selectivitys reach 92.4%.Ag/Al 2 O 3 Catalyst is more cheap than precious metal based catalysts such as Pt catalyst, and without reduction pretreatment before using, reaction condition is gentle, has higher catalysis activity and selectivity to this reaction, has industrial application value.
