Crosslinked and Structurally Coloured Polycarbonate Siloxanes

2011
Crosslinked block polycarbonate siloxanes (B-PCSs) with a gel fraction yield of up to 92 wt% were obtained by hydrosilylation and photopolymerisation, respectively, by the vinyl and methacrylate groups in B-PCSs. In the process of photocrosslinking, the strength properties of films of B-PCSs increase by 15–20% by comparison with non-crosslinked specimens. B-PCSs with chemically bound phenyl- and amine-type dyes were synthesised by a two-stage method: by reactions of hydroxy and amine groups of the dye with chloroformate groups of diphenylolpropane with subsequent polycondensation of the reaction mixture with bis-phenolsiloxanes. Investigation by electron spectroscopy in the visible region of the spectrum of crosslinked structurally coloured B-PCSs showed that, during crosslinking, there is no change in their spectral characteristics by comparison with the initial linear coloured copolymers.
