Abordagem do Tratamento do Glioblastoma em Idosos. Relato de 5 casos e revisão da literatura

2019
Introduction: Glioblastoma is the second most common tumor of the central nervous system and the most aggressive type of malignant brain tumor. Thus, knowing how to proceed before the glioblastoma condition is fundamental for neurosurgeon practice, especially in the elderly. Objective: Five clinical cases are presented and the best approach for glioblastoma in the elderly is discussed. Case presentation: Five cases of glioblastoma in the elderly and their outcomes were reported. Conclusion: The treatment of glioblastoma in the elderly should be guided by imaging tests, by performance scales in order to guarantee the best condition for the patient. For the elderly, palliative care therapy is oriented, not the surgical route.
