Overview of public health genomics.

In the era of genomics,amounts of biomedical information have brought great opportunities and challenges to public health when being applied to the area of diseases prevention.Therefore,public health genomics is a multidisciplinary field concerned with the effective and responsible translation of genome-based knowledge and technologies to improve population health.Through establishing an international network and integrating knowledge within and across disciplines,it will be widely applied to describe the diseases distribu tion,detect causal factors,prevent diseases and mend the gap between clinical medicine and public health,and finally to promote human health.
