Clinical Study on Yang-Warming and Blood-Activating Therapy for Chronic Heart failure

2005
To study the clinical effects of yang-warming and blood-activating therapy in the treatment of chronic heart failure, 120 subjects were randomized into group Al and group B1 which were of yang deficiency, and group A2 and group B2 which were of blood stasis. Besides routine western treatment, herbal treatment was also given on syndrome differentiation. The syndrome score, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) level were observed. Results: In treatment groups, the syndrome scores, LVEF and BNP level improved much better than control groups. It is indicated that this Therapy is quite effective for CHF.
