2013
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of Bifidobacterium bifidum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell wall composition to induce TLR-mediated activation of NF-κB transcriptional factor in HEK293-hTLR2/CD14, HEK293-hTLR4/CD14-MD2, HEK293-hTLR5, HEK293-hTLR cells. The combination of microbial cell walls was found to activate NF-κB through interaction with TLR2 and TLR4 but not TLR5. The pretreatment of bacterial cell walls with lysozyme slightly decreases the biological activity of the cytoderm composition.
