Preliminary Study on Ethanol Distillation from Sweet Sorghum Stalks by the Solid Fermentation

2009
The matured sweet sorghum stalks were used as experimental material, crude Ethanol was distilled by adopting a simple solid fermentation techniques under the condition of 0.2% microzyme inoculation、0.1% glucoamylase、0.8% cellulase, and the longest fermentation time was 120 h.During the fermentation time the reducing sugar contents and alcohol contents were measured. The results indicated that the alcohol contents reached the highest value and reducing sugar contents began to decrease slowly at the fermentation time of 48 h.At the fermentation time of 114 h,the reducing sugar contents decreased to 0.12%,distillation was processed and 8.33 g/100 g,61% crude alcohol was obtained when the fermentation time reached 120 h.
