A novel approach for on-chip detection of analyte by incorporating structurally compatible optical waveguides with electrowetting-on-dielectric platform

A novel electro-wetting-on-dielectric digital microfluidic device with on-chip-detection is proposed, which is realized by embedding structurally compatible waveguides. The evanescent field senses the index change of droplets on top with a sensitivity of 1.05×10 −5 RIU.
