Interactions of polarized 3He particles with 24Mg

Differential cross sections and analysing powers have been measured for the elastic and inelastic scattering of polarized 3He particles by 24Mg. Simultaneously, data have been extracted for (3He,d) and (3He,α) reactions leading to the g.s. (5/2+), 0.451 MeV (1/2+) and 0.945 MeV (3/2+) states of 25Al and to the g.s. (3/2+) and 0.451 MeV (5/2+) states of 23Mg. The obtained results are compared with the optical model, DWBA and coupled reaction channel (CRC) calculations.
