A superspace description for the morphology of modulated crystals: An explanation for the occurrence of faces (hklm)

1994
Abstract A theory is presented for the explanation of equilibrium forms of modulated crystals. In this theory crystallographic concepts are generalized to a superspace description of these crystals. The aim is to be able to deal with the case of incommensurately modulated crystals and consequently to explain the occurrence of satellite faces. The case of a modulated one-dimensional crystal is treated.
