A bar composition comprising: (a) from 40% to 80% by weight of fatty acid soap and less than 3% by weight of synthetic surfactant, (b) 0 to 40% structurant; (C) from 5% to 25% water; wherein 8% to 60% of the bar comprises a complex formed from the interaction of soluble soap and multivalent cation the; wherein the composition comprises less than 2% builder; wherein the composition lacks enzymes, and wherein the multivalent cation does not comprise magnesium.
