Motion of dislocations in KCl crystals under the action of constant stresses
1993
An investigation is made of the influence of high hydrostatic pressures (up to 700 MPa) on the motion of edge dislocations in KCl crystals containing impurities and subjected to a constant stress corresponding to the plateau of a loading pulse. The results are compared with those obtained by measuring the dislocation mobility at 77 K. An increase in the hydrostatic pressure and a lowering of the temperature shifts the stress dependence of the velocity υ(τ) toward higher values of τ, proportionally to G 3/2 , where G is the shear modulus
