The effect of glucocorticoids on membrane fluidity of mast cells.

2010
Objective:To study the rapid effect of glucocorticoids(corticosterone) on the membrane fluidity of mast cells. Methods:The microviscosity were detected by fluorometric polarization method. We measured the different concentrations of GCs' on the membrane fluidity of mast cells and added the GCs nuclear receptor antagonist RU38486 to demonstrate whether RU38486 could block the rapid action. Results:Compared with the negative group,GCs could rapidly reduce the membrane fluidity and stabilize membrane(P0.01);and GCs nuclear receptor antagonist RU38486 could block the rapid action(P0.01).Conclusions:GCs could rapidly reduce the membrane fluidity of mast cells and stabilize it.This effect may be one of the target as nongenomic mechanism of GCs on the mast cells degranulation.
