Analysis on the dynamic outcome of the advanced schistosomiasis epidemic in Hubei Province

Objective To analyze the dynamic outcome of the advanced schistosomiasis patients,and to provide evidence for further control in the future.Methods A unified standard was formulated for the follow-up investigation of the advanced schistosomiasis patients yearly,from 2004 to 2011.Results 39 996 advanced schistosomiasis patients were found in the past eight years,38 851 patients were treated,the treatment rate was 97.14%.5 648 patients were cured,the curative rate was 14.12%.Most of the the advanced schistosomiasis patients were with ascites,followed by megalospleny.Conclusion The tendency of patients' number,curative and mortality rate in Hubei Province was descending year by year.
