Fliver - an Enhancement to the Existing Autorickshaw System in India

Presently, there is no dearth of commuting options in most metropolitan cities. However, the timely availability and reliability of resources like rickshaws varies a lot, especially in Mumbai [1]. Ride sharing services such as Uber and Ola have made use of smartphones to overcome these limitations and revolutionize the way we travel. We studied these existing systems and their limitations, based on which we devised a model which allows Riders to easily and anonymously convey their location to Drivers. The Riders' locations are then aggregated and displayed as demand ‘hotspots’ to Drivers, making them aware of popular areas at a given time. Drivers can come to fetch Riders as they please, giving them the freedom of choice without charging any commission. This is what makes the proposed system unique.
