The invention relates to an exhaust gas purifying body and an internal combustion engine with exhaust gas purifier body. The exhaust gas purifying body (5) has a honeycomb Body shape with a plurality of mutually parallel, slender and straight flow channels (6a, 6b), which extend from an inlet side (10) of the exhaust gas purifier body (5) to an exit side (11) of the exhaust gas purifier body (5 ), wherein directly adjacent flow channels (by porous, gas-permeable walls 7) are separated from each other. According to the invention, a first portion of the flow channels (6a, 6b) on the inlet side (10) or on the exit side (11) of gas-impermeable sealed and otherwise formed freely flow through and a second portion of the flow channels (6a, 6b) from the entry side (10) to the outlet side (11) formed continuously flow freely through. The exhaust gas purifying body according to the invention (5) can be used with advantage for partikelvermindernden cleanup of spark-ignition internal combustion engines with direct fuel injection.
