A method of manufacture or repair of a component and cover coat

Disclosed is a method of manufacture or repair of a component 1, in particular a gas turbine component, by means of a thermal spraying process, wherein the component 1 has at least one covered region 10, comprising the steps of: a) applying a cover coating 12 on the area to be covered 10 of the part 1; b) applying at least a spray layer on the component 1 and c) removing the cover coat 12 of the component. 1 Further disclosed is a cover coating for a component 1 of a gas turbine 2 in the manufacture or repair by means of a thermal spraying method.
