Unusual light curves of stellar flares in Orion

1988
Twenty photographic light curves of stellar flares in Orion that occurred during 1969-1985 and had an unusual structure are considered. They all appear to be slow flares in Haro's classification. Half of them have a comparatively smooth structure, four curves are the result of combinations of the light curves of fast and slow flares (fast-slow, slow-fast, slow-slow), and the remainder exhibit a more or less flat maximum resembling fuorlike variations of small scales. A remarkable example of fuorlike variations, contineud for not less than a year, is provided by the light curves of a flare of the object FS 435 = Ab 24. These new observational data can be regarded as supporting the physical similarity of flares and fuorlike variations of the brightness of stars.
