A note on the regional dimension of post-war demographic development in Albania.

Although Albanias rather peculiar demographic development is often commented upon little is in fact known about the regional differentiation within the country. This research note therefore sets out to tentatively describe and analyse Albanias population geography. Regional variations in vital indicators natural and actual growth as well as inter-district and rural-to-urban migration are amongst the issues brought up. Some implications for the social processes currently unfolding in Albania and for the study of these processes are identified. (EXCERPT)
