The invention belongs to the technical field of an optical cable or cable material, and relates to a Mylar belt for cable or optical cable package. The Mylar belt is provided with a Mylar base belt layer and a first shielding layer, wherein the first shielding layer is bonded on a first surface of the Mylar base belt layer, the width and the length of the Mylar base belt layer are over 100 times of the thickness of the Mylar base belt layer, and the first surface is a surface formed by the length and the width of the Mylar base belt layer. The Mylar belt is characterized in that the Mylar belt comprises the following raw materials of polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, high-density polyethylene, polypropylene, a polyolefin-type thermoplastic elastomer, polyethylene wax, tricresyl phosphate, triphenyl phosphate and an antioxidant with a type of 1010. The invention also discloses a preparation method of the Mylar belt. The Mylar belt has the advantages of high- and low-temperature aging resistance, and more favorable tensile strength, elongation at break, torsion resistance, bending resistance, winding resistance, stripping resistance and water penetration resistance, the production method is simple and easy to master, a few devices are required, and the qualified rate is high.
