Use of new medical technologies in the organization of medical and social assistance for children and adolescents suffering from diabetes mellitus

Objective — to optimize of scientific and information support for specialists in pediatric diabetes.Materials and methods. Publications on providing medical care for patients with diabetes, including for children and adolescents, scientific and popular scientific publications, created in pediatric diabetology on the results of research in the period 2010 — 2019, and recorded in the accounting cards of research and dissertation works, their use by specialists (according to survey of 50 doctors with questionnaire developed by authors) that provide medical assistance to children and adolescents with diabetes mellitus. For analysis, well‑known methods of information analytics were used.Results. According to the results of information analytics, we obtained data on the main directions of organizational and methodological work with the contingent of patients with diabetes mellitus (multidisciplinary team, sanatorium‑spa treatment, information campaigns among the population and patients on the formation of skills and observance of healthy lifestyles, blood insulin control, self‑management training, psychological support, socialization). According to the results of the doctors’ answers regarding familiarization with organizational technologies in medical support of children and adolescents with diabetes, the level of their use is established.Conclusions. The data obtained during this study indicate the need and feasibility of carrying out scientometric studies in pediatric diabetes mellitus to optimize the scientific and information support of specialists providing medical care to children and adolescents suffering from diabetes mellitus and increase their competence in these fields.
