Hyaluronic acid and its biomedical applications: A review

Abstract Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring biopolymer possessing numerous functions within the body including wound repair, cell migration, and cell signaling. Due to its versatility, hyaluronic acid has been a major component of biomedical research and has seen application in several fields such as tissue engineering and cancer treatments through a multitude of different forms. This review aims to outline hyaluronic acid's role in the healing process while focusing on its myriad of forms and applications in the biomedical world.
