Patreon w bibliotece jako nowa forma mecenatu kultury

Thesis/Objective – The article is to discuss social financing of public activities by means of the Patreon web service addressed to culture creators and recipients. The author analyzes how crowdfunding platforms and websites for social patronage of culture may be used to design and finance library services. Research method – The criticalanalysis of literature was used. The author used selected criteria to search LISTA abstract database, Web of Science database and Google Scholar resources. Results – The author discovered that social financing of library activities is rarely discussed in the literature of the field. Conclusions – Crowdfunding platforms and websites for social patronage of culture may provide an excellent opportunity to finance innovative library services responding to the library users’ expectations and preferences
