Hydroxyalkylation with Cyclic Sulfates: Synthesis of Carbazole Derived CB2 Ligands with Increased Polarity.

Homologous hydroxyalkylcarbazoles (VII) are synthesized via hydroxyalkylation of carbazole (I) with cyclic sulfates (II) and a final coupling of aminocarbazoles (V) with propionic acid (VI) using the recently developed coupling reagent COMU®.
