A novel electrodes collocation for asymmetric electrochemical capacitor

The Li4Ti5O12 and LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 electrode materials are prepared by solid state reaction by one step. The structures and morphologies of the LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 and Li4Ti5O12 electrode materials are characterised by X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochemical properties of asymmetric electrochemical capacitor are characterised by galvanostatic charge-discharge curves. Comparing the different compounding situations, the results show us the sample that has optimum content, containing active carbon (AC) mixed with 10% LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 and Li4Ti5O12, achieves a high specific capacitance and a good cyclic stability, and the specific capacitance is 178.5F∙g–1 at 80 mA∙g–1 in the voltage of 1 to 2.5 V, which has the best properties in our experiment.
