Estudo do efeito da arnica (ARNICA MONTANA L.) Sobre a cicatrização de feridas cutâneas em ratos

A Arnica montana L e um fitoterapico amplamente utilizado na cultura popular como agente antiinflamatorio e cicatrizante. Os eteres helenalina e dihidro-helenalina, presentes na Arnica montana L., compoem um grupo de substâncias com atividades farmacologicas capazes de elevar a eficacia reparativa dos processos patologicos de lesao tecidual. O presente estudo tem por objetivo avaliar a acao do gel Arnica montana L. no processo de cicatrizacao de feridas em segunda intencao de ratos Wistar. Para tanto, foram utilizados 3 grupos de ratos Wistar onde foram produzidas feridas de 0,5 cm2 no dorso esquerdo dos animais. A partir do dia da producao das lesoes os animais passaram serem observados diariamente e a receber sobre as lesoes gel de Arnica montana L (grupo Arnica, n=5), gel neutro que serve de veiculo (grupo Placebo, n=5) ou nenhum tratamento (grupo Controle, n=5). Apos 15 dias de tratamento os ratos foram submetidos a nova cirurgia onde foi obtido o anatomopatologico e foram feitas lâminas histologicas, que passaram por um patologista, onde se concluiu que o grupo da arnica em relacao aos outros dois grupos placebo e controle (pelo fato de possuir o principio ativo) obteve uma melhora. O grupo placebo, tambem obteve uma melhora, comparado ao grupo controle onde nao se aplicou nenhum medicamento. Conclui-se que o fitoterapico Arnica montana L. e considerado eficaz no processo cicatricial. Palavras chaves: Arnica montana L., fitoterapicos, cicatrizacao. ABSTRACT Study of arnica's effect (ARNICA MONTANA L.) On the healing of skin wound in rats The Arnica montana L is a herbal medicine widely used in popular culture as anti-inflammatory and wound healing agent. The ethers helenalin and dihydro-helenalin, present in Arnica montana L., comprising a substances group with pharmacological activity capable of increase the reparative effectiveness of pathological processes in tissue damage. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the gel Arnica montana L. in the process of wound healing in second intention of Wistar rats. For this purpose, were used 3 groups of Wistar rats which were made 0.5 cm2 wounds on the left back of the animals. From the day of the lesions production the animals began to be observed daily and receive on injuries Arnica montana L gel (Arnica group, n = 5), neutral gel which serves as vehicle (Placebo group, n = 5) or no treatment (Control group, n = 5). After 15 treatment days the rats underwent a second operation which was obtained the anatomopathological and were made histology slides which passed by a pathologist, which concluded that the arnica group in relation to the two groups, placebo and control (by the fact that has the active principle) obtained an improvement. The placebo group also had an improvement compared to the control group which did not apply any medication. It is concluded that the herbal medicine Arnica montana L. is considered effective in the healing process. Key-words: Arnica montana L., herbal medicine, wound healing.
