Genetic mapping of a cross-incompatibility gene ga1 in maize

2010
A set of BC1 population derived from the cross-incompatibility line 6477 and normal inbred line 87-1,was used as materials to analyze the genetic mechanism of the cross-incompatibility line. The result demonstrated that the cross-incompatibility line was controlled by a ressive gene ga1.Using the technique of SSR molecular marker combined with BSA population segregating the gene was mapped on chromosome 4,linked with SSR markers umc1288 and umc1294,and the genetic distance was 19.0 and 8.7 cM respectively.
