Molecularly imprinted polymers: possible use for isolation of biosynthetic antibiotics

2014
The literature data on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) for biosynthetic antibiotics were reviewed to estimate the potential of MIP use for sorption isolation of these antibiotics. MIP were systematized in terms of both target molecules and starting monomers/resulting polymers, as well as their applications. As a result, acrylic MIP were proposed for the isolation of acid, basic, and amphoteric biosynthetic antibiotics.
