The article concerns the process of the Soviet Union trade policies during the anti-alcohol campaign in the Orenburg region. A thorough analysis of archival documents revealed new principles in trade policies and activities of trade organizations. The process of reducing the production and sales of strong drinks in the region is studied as well as the essence and main content of anti-alcohol measures. The basic forms and specific character of regulating retail distribution of alcohol are given detailed treatment.
