Production of porous ceramic plugs for blowing steel with gases through the ladle bottom

We developed a technology for the production of porous plugs on the basis of fused magnesite and electrofused corundum. Through the plugs, it is possible to blow the metal 15–20 min after pouring the metal in the ladle. The life of the plugs is 4–5 blows.
