Economics and system productivity for Maize-Vegetable based cropping systems

A field experiment was conducted at Post Graduate Institute, Mahatma Phule Krushi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri (Maharashtra) with the objectives to study productivity of maize based vegetable cropping systems (maize-onion, maize-garlic and maize-potato) under different nutrient management treatments during 2014–15 and 2015–16. Maize-garlic cropping system recorded significantly maximum gross and net monetary returns. Similarly, among the different cropping systems, maize-garlic cropping system recorded significantly maximum total system productivity of 483.01, 545.71 (q ha−1) during 2014–15, 2015–16 respectively.
