Plasma Plume Ignited by Plasma Plume at Atmospheric Pressure

2011
In this paper, a plasma jet device is used to study the propagation of plasma plumes at atmospheric pressure. It is found that a primary plasma plume can ignite a secondary plasma plume, which can further ignite a tertiary plasma plume. Each plume is separated from another by a single tube. High-speed photographs show that the secondary plasma plume is ignited after the primary plasma plume is extinguished. Likewise, the tertiary plasma plume is ignited after the secondary plasma plume disappears.
